MAKE your next cuppa count by hosting a Coffee, Cake & Care morning in aid of St Clare Hospice.

From now until the end of April, the Hastingwood-based charity is inviting its supporters to pop the kettle on and help raise vital funds so it can continue providing its specialist care and support to local people who are living with a condition that cannot be cured.

St Clare Relationship Fundraiser Jo Hotten said: “Taking part in Coffee, Cake & Care is as easy as flicking the switch on the kettle. It is the perfect opportunity to get together with family, friends or co-workers over a cup of your favourite brew and a slice of something delicious, all whilst raising money for local hospice care. Whether you raise £20 or £200, every penny counts.”

To help make your Coffee, Cake & Care event a success, St Clare has created a free fundraising pack brimming with recipes, games and inspiration to help plan your event.

All the money raised will help the Hospice continue to support people who have received a life-limiting diagnosis live well with their condition, providing skilled and compassionate care until the end of their life as well as support for their loved ones after they have died. 

• £50 could pay for two hours of specialist nursing care in the Hospice’s Inpatient Unit so relatives can become sons, daughters, wives and husbands again rather than carers.
• £150 could help cover the cost of training a Compassionate Neighbour who will befriend and regularly visit someone who is isolated or frail.
• £300 could cover 12 hours of bereavement counselling to help someone process their complicated feelings of grief knowing that they are not alone.

Jo added: “We all know the comfort that a cuppa can bring so please help us continue making a meaningful difference to the lives of the people who rely on St Clare by taking part in Coffee, Cake & Care this spring. Every precious pound you raise will ensure no-one has to face a life-limiting illness without St Clare by their side.”
