A FORMER St Mark’s student has made it to the semi-finals of Miss England 2024.

Agnes Perez, aged 26, is set to contest the semi-final on Sunday in Blackpool.

Beauty pageants are culturally different from their historic predecessors and concentrate on a whole range of skills and outlooks.

After leaving St Mark’s, Agnes studied at Harlow College before going on to gain a degree in Fashion Design at Cambridge School of Art at Anglia Ruskin University in 2020.

Agnes currently lives in Bedford working as a Digital Marketer, and in May this year will be pursuing a masters degree in Marketing and Digital Communications part-time.

Agnes is also making history as the first Filipino woman in the history of the contest to qualify for the semi-finals.

Agnes said: “I am first of all very proud to be the first Filipino woman to qualify for the semi finals.

“One of the most satisfying aspects of the competition is the concentration on my academic and professional skills.

“The judges wanted to know a lot about my degree in fashion design and wanted to see what I had created.

“My family have been very supportive and I am just looking to they my best.”
