General Election 24: Hannah Ellis (Conservative): Opening and closing speeches

Elections / Fri 21st Jun 2024 at 07:07am

OUR General Election Hustings began with each candidate telling the audience why they should vote for them.

The evening ended with each one reminding them of the key issues in the campaign to be the next MP for Harlow and the villages.

We have editing the two speeches together.

Here is the Conservative Party candidate, Hannah Ellis.

The other candidates to follow.

All speeches are on our Politics page.

So much for an amateur as said by many posts. Hannah spoke well and seemed very professional, knowing more about politics than the others.

You posted Hannah Ellis speeches to your Facebook and Twitter pages, but not Chris Vince's, any reason why not?

Turkey, I hope she does know more about politics, that has been her working life. But are you happy with how politics has panned out, perhaps better to have someone with an alternative perspective rather than one who was part of the tory fiasco. Bear in mind she wasn't the stand out candidate in her ward in the local elections last month. Did she have any original views, I don't think so.

No mention of the last 14 years I wonder why? She claims she will rebuild the town center but the council does not own, it so much for that. Why has she not explained why her predecessor failed to get a new hospital built?

I read Hannah's letter to the electorate published on YH, not only no mention of 14 years in power, not even one mention of the word "Conservative"! Still with a record like theirs I'd be ashamed too!
