A SPONSORED walk by staff, parents and most importantly, the little ones, at a Bush Fair pre school raised over £2,000 for St Clare Hospice.

The team at Smiles Montessori Pre-School undertook a number of sponsored walks around the Bush Fair area. This was not only for children’s physical health but also for educational purposes as well as they took in a number of sights on the way.

In the end they raised a grand total of £2,130.00 exactly.

Jo Hatton from St Clare went to the pre-school to accept the cheque and tell them all how much their fundraising is appreciated.

Jo said: “This is an amazing effort by all the team but especially the children. They should all be very proud. This will help us a great deal”.

Nursery manager Dee Sims told YH: “Every day is a learning day at Smiles but this was a great opportunity for the children to appreciate and take part in a worthwhile cause.

“It was great to hand over the cheque and helped all at St Clare Hospice”.
