Community unites to support Stanley by raising hundreds in charity football match

Charity / Wed 21st Aug 2024 at 01:54pm

ON Friday, August 16th, the football community came together for a charity football match at Ware FC, and in doing so successfully raised an impressive £550.

The funds will benefit Stanley Bramble, a courageous nine-year-old boy from Harlow who is currently battling stage 3 Ependymoma.

Stanley has a heartfelt dream of visiting Disneyworld in Florida, and the money raised from this event will be donated directly to his fund to help make this dream a reality.

The match not only showcased the spirit of community support but also highlighted the dedication of friends and families of the players who rallied together for this important cause.

Liam Dowers from Risden Woods FC said: “I just want to say a huge thank you to all the guys that played in this match, my team was formed of old teammates and friends and the opposition was kindly supplied by the Paringdon Super-vets.

This is the third year I have organised this event to help raise money for charity, which now totals at over £3,000 raised for various charities and causes, including the Freekickz foundation, Streets2homes and now Stanley.

“I’d also like to thank the friends and family members of the players who came down to support us players, as without their support we wouldn’t have raised any money, it would have just been 22 old blokes running round and kicking a ball for 90 minutes!

Please help, any donations are greatly appreciated

“Finally I would also like to say thank you to Risden Woods, HATS, Vibe Barbershop, C Morris Football Coaching, Quasar, Glo crazy and Not just travel – Nikki Keyte for your sponsorship
