Harlow MP Chris Vince questioned over cancelled appointments at Princess Alexandra Hospital
Chris Vince / Tue 10th Dec 2024 at 07:52am
AFTER receiving the news that thousands of appointments at Princess Alexandra Hospital for Harlow residents have been cancelled as they install a new electronic patient record system (Alex Health), we spoke to local MP Chris Vince.
As you can see below, he had a meeting a few weeks ago with the new boss at PAH and said he was re-assured and satisfied that appointments would be rescheduled.
But we questioned whether they had fully briefed Mr Vince on how many appointments would be cancelled? Or indeed did he ask?
We wanted to be reassured, on behalf of our readers, that Mr Vince was, as they say, holding their feet to the fire?
We also asked him whether he would, raise this matter on the door of the House of Commons?
The question should be: are you impressed at the work of MP Vince after six months in office? Has he delivered anything of substance to the electorate in this town? Jam tomorrow is not what he was elected to achieve for the town: was he? And using the "14 years" all the time is just lazy rhetoric when he should be saying what action he and his party are doing to reverse the rubbish of 14 years and then doing it.
Shocking? Yes Shocking! I'm not sure what is more shocking, the cancellation of 9,000 appointments or Mr Vince's nonchalant response to this catastrophe! "It's not a new problem" he says! When and where and why did any other hospital cancel such a number or appointments? "It's hugely concerning" he says! So what is he going to do about it? Ask his office to keep in touch with the "new" Chief Executive, who one can only imagine must be going through some rapid "on the job" training for it to be worthy of note. No one has suggested that the frontline staff, nurses or doctors are to blame for this fiasco, so let's not deflect from the point. This matters to the people of Harlow. When will the 9,000 appointments be rescheduled? How long will those individuals now have to wait to be seen? What will the consequences be for the health of those who had their appointments cancelled? Is Mr Vince taking this matter seriously? We can make an educated guess in answer to that one!
Hello Chris - I turned the news on a couple of days ago, flicked past the Parliament Channel and saw that you’d managed to secure a debate on pelvic mesh - Your heart is in the right place. Your leader, however, isn’t doing too good a job. Most PMs when they get the job, roll up their sleeves and get down to tackling the problems of the country - They get their best work done in their first year. Conversely, you can tell a leader is on their way out when they begin pointless rounds of overseas trips with the purpose of securing future income and influence for themselves and jobs for their kids. While Keir Starmer is on his latest junket, his ministers are left to take the flack as Reform rises in the polls because of HIS ineptitude. While the tedious man is being filmed looking starstruck meeting Arab dictators, they are being asked how they are going to improve public services and all they can say is “We’re fixing the finances” - There is no direction - There is no Umph! - I was embarrassed for The Chancellor yesterday when she went to Brussels to reset the relationship with the EU and when asked how we’d reset the relationship she was left there with nothing to offer because of Starmer’s timidity. Get rid of him and get someone with the stomach to do the job - You have the people in your government who could stave off Reform - Act fast.
A cynic might think that this has been done deliberately as the so called unintended consequences are people not getting treatment and possibly dying which reduces the burden( cost) to the NHS, and why would you roll this out just before peak demand.
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah greatly alarming, blah, blah, nhs staff told me, blah, blah, My office blah , blah. The get up and go of a wet blanket strikes again. Can anyone honestly see over £125,000's worth of representation for Harlow, in Chris Vince?
