Love is in the air as London Stansted prepares for a busy half-term getaway

LONDON Stansted is gearing up for one of its busiest weeks of the year so far with 830,000 passengers set to travel during the half-term break.
As families and couples from across the region take flight in search of winter sun, ski slopes, and romantic city breaks, the airport is expecting a boost in passengers over the next 10 days.

Friday, February 14, is set to be one of the busiest days of the period, marking not only the start of the school holidays but also Valentine’s Day.
Whether its lovebirds whisking their sweetheart away for the weekend or families setting off on a well-earned holiday, London Stansted is ready to play Cupid in getting passengers on their way.
For those looking to add a little sunshine to their love story, the Canary Islands, Southern Spain, Turkey, and Dubai are among the most popular destinations.
Snow lovers hoping to fall head over heels for the slopes are heading to Geneva, Chambery, Turin, Innsbruck, and Zurich.
Meanwhile, Edinburgh, Vienna, Amsterdam, Dublin, and Barcelona are some of the most love-struck city break destinations this February.
Nick Millar, London Stansted’s Operations Director, shared his advice for a smooth and stress-free journey through the airport:
“As we head into the busiest week of the year so far, our teams are ready to make sure every journey gets off to a flying start.
“We recommend passengers check with their airline on the best arrival time, usually two to three hours before departure.
“To avoid any heartbreak at security, make sure to check up on security rules, like the 100ml liquid limit for hand luggage, and have items packed in clear plastic bags.
“And, take a moment to check for any travel disruption before heading out, so you can avoid any surprises along the way.
“Whether you’re jetting off for a romantic weekend away or a fun-filled family adventure, we want every passenger to feel the love at Stansted this half-term.”
