New online offer for unpaid carers

A NEW online offer for unpaid carers has launched. The offer aims to enrich carers’ lives, reduce their burden, address isolation, and create a supportive community.

The new virtual offer for carers will be delivered by Mobilise. It will provide information, advice and guidance at times that suit all carers. It will also help them maintain their own wellbeing and resilience. There will also be information available to help people identify as a carer and the support available to them.
Virtual training is also available. It is designed to be flexible and there when carers need it. Training signposts to useful tools, content and Community Hub, where expert carers are on-hand to provide moral support and share useful hints and tips.
Councillor John Spence, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, Adult Social Care, Public Health and Integration said: “Helping carers to care is at the heart of our ambitions. Unpaid carers play a significant role and we are indebted to all they do.
“Unpaid carers should feel supported every day at any time. We are pleased to now be working with Mobilise to provide online support for unpaid carers.
“Mobilise will make it easier for unpaid carers across the county to access free information, guidance and advice. They will also be able to access free support calls and coaching programmes with a carer support team.
“Unpaid carers make a real difference to those they support and the wider community. They are not always able to access in person services so this new offer will make sure they always have somewhere to go for support when they need it. By providing this sort of support unpaid carers are able to continue their caring role and look after themselves too.”
