A MAN has died following a collision on the M11 near Harlow.

A police spokesperson said: ‘We were called to reports of a collision on the southbound carriageway shortly before 3.50pm today (Sunday 17 August).

A car and a motorbike were involved.

Sadly, the rider of the motorbike – a man in his 30s – was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road has been closed while we respond to the incident and investigate.

Update: 1720 hrs

Traffic has now been released on the #M11 northbound between J6 (#M25) and J7 (#Harlow).

Southbound will remain closed for some time, but traffic caught within this closure will be released past the scene of the incident via the hard shoulder.

Statement from Essex Police: “We’re on scene of a serious collision on the southbound carriageway of the M11 nearly Junction 7 for Harlow.

It happened shortly before 3.50pm today (Sunday 17 August).

The road has been closed while we respond to this incident.
