Statement from Essex Police: “We were called to reports of a collision involving a car and moped in Edinburgh Way, Harlow, at about 6.05pm on Monday 13 October.

At the scene it was reported the moped rider sustained serious injuries and has been taken to hospital where they are in a life-threatening condition.

Our investigation is ongoing and if anyone witnessed this or has dashcam footage of the incident should contact us quoting incident 970 of Monday 13 October.

THE EMERGENCY services are in attendance at a serious road traffic incident on Edinburgh Way in Harlow.

The incident appears to involve a car and a motorbike.

The location of the incident is at the junction with the KFC section of the retail park.

All three services are present and it appeared at that time (1915 hours) that the traffic officers were about to implement a road closure.

YH has contacted the relevant press offices to establish what happen and if there were any injuries.
