Two Harlow residents charged with running unlicensed House of Multiple Occupation

TWO Harlow residents have been charged with running an unlicensed House of Multiple Occupation (HMO) in the town.

Antoanaeta Guna and Eugen Guna, of Old Todd Brook, Barn Miles Close, Harlow have been charged with the following.

On or about July 16th, 2024, at Harlow had control of or managed a House in Multiple Occupation which was required to be licensed under Part 2 of the Housing Act 2004, namely at 378 Milwards Harlow Essex CM19 4SP , but which was not so licensed.

Contrary to section 72(1) and (6) of the Housing Act 2004.

They both have pled not guilty.

Lets hope HMRC get on the case as well.

I suspect this is the tip of the iceberg. Rather than absurd campaigns to promote reporting of so called “hate crimes”, the Council out do more to raise public awareness of HMO scams and how to report possible cases.
