ESSEX Firefighters were called to a fire in a derelict former police station in London Road, Harlow at 6pm last night. 

On arrival, four crews reported the building was heavily smoke logged and worked to extinguish a the fire in sections.

An investigation carried out to determine the cause of the fire found it was started deliberately.

The building in question is the former police station in Old Harlow.

A few months ago, a cannabis factory was unearthed there.
