ESSEX Police are investigating a collision in Hatfield Heath during which a man has sadly died. 

A spokesperson said: “We were alerted to the incident, in Hatfield Heath Road, at 5.40pm on Wednesday 21 January. 

It was reported that two vehicles, a van and a car, had collided. 

Very sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency services and those first on the scene, a man aged in his 50s has died. 

His family are aware and are being supported. 

At this stage no arrests have been made, and specialist roads officers are investigating the circumstances around the incident. 

The road was closed whilst emergency services worked at the scene. It was re-opened shortly before midnight.
