THE primary schools from across the PCLC Trust have come together to form the brand- new PCLC Primary Choir, marking an exciting milestone in collaborative music-making across the Trust.

The choir made its first ever performance on Tuesday 3rd February, performing to an audience of parents, carers and family members on the stage at Passmores Academy.

The concert celebrated the power of music to bring children and communities together and showcases songs spanning several decades.

Made up of pupils from Potter Street, The Downs, Purford Green and Peartree Mead primary schools, the PCLC Primary Choir represents the shared commitment to creativity, confidence and collaboration. Pupils have been rehearsing together across schools, building friendships as well as musical skills in preparation for this special debut performance.

One choir member said, “I was nervous at first because I didn’t know everyone, but now it feels like we’re one big team. Singing together makes me feel really confident.”

A further choir member shared, “It’s been really exciting learning songs from different times and singing with children from other schools.”

The concert also has a fundraising focus, with all money raised going towards ensuring that high-quality musical opportunities continue to be available for pupils across the Trust.

Emma Bloomfield for PCLC Trust said: “This choir is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when schools work together. The children have shown incredible dedication and joy in coming together through music, and their first performance together is something we are immensely proud of.”

The whole event was an uplifting afternoon of singing and celebration, highlighting both the musical talents of the pupils and the strength of partnership across the PCLC Trust.
