PUPILS at Potter Street Academy in Harlow are getting creative as they take part in this summer’s Lions on the Loose Art Trail, raising funds for St Clare Hospice.
The school will be designing and decorating its own lion sculpture as part of the community-wide project, which will see colourful lion artworks displayed across the area to support the hospice.

To help bring their design to life, every child at Potter Street Academy will receive a lion template to decorate at home. Pupils are being encouraged to base their designs around the academy’s four core values: Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Relationships, while also embracing the theme of Superheroes.
Children can submit as many designs as they wish, with a small £1 donation per entry going towards the fundraising effort. From the entries, one winning design will be chosen to represent each of the four values, and these will be incorporated into the final artwork on the school’s lion sculpture.

Once the art trail has finished, the lion will return to Potter Street Academy where it will remain as a permanent reminder of the pupils’ creativity and their support for the hospice.
Head of School, Neil Gladwin, said the project is a fantastic opportunity for pupils to combine creativity with community spirit while supporting an important local cause.
