The Tories are leading the UK down the road to hell

By Neil Greaves

I recently wrote how Boris’s Withdrawal Agreement could be the catalyst for the breakup of the UK because it annexes Northern Ireland from the rest of the United Kingdom.

This new Treaty consists not only of the Withdrawal Agreement but also a Political Declaration.

The Political Declaration sets the basis for any future Free Trade Agreement with the EU. It’s like a road map, i.e., it provides a set of directions for where both the UK and the EU want to end up.

Well, by the looks of it the Tories are seriously lost. They are taking several wrong turns, and their sat nav needs resetting.

The Political Declaration includes:
There must be “a level playing field”. That means our trade deals cannot be better than the EU’s.
We must have Regulatory Alignment, as such, we must follow all the EU’s rules and regulations.
There’s no state aid to help UK industries
We must sign up for military integration
The EU still has access to our fishing waters

“Donald Tusk once said that he was “wondering what that special place in hell looks like”. Well, Donald, I think that you might just have found it.

Great, go on then. Attack the party around here that have any chance of delivering a Brexit whatever it looks like. Keep campaigning like this and what'll actually happen is you'll take away votes from the Conservatives and then Labour win the seat. We then get either a second referendum or complete cancellation of Brexit and then, the Brexit Party, are even further away from what it actually wanted. I really don't understand the logic of this campaigning let alone why only half of a quote is being used to support your argument. I believe Donald Tusk actually said...“what that special place in hell looks like, for those who promoted Brexit without even a sketch of a plan how to carry it out safely.” Also, the Brexit Party's stance on Northern Ireland severely compromises that last bit about safety. I guess that's why the full quote wasn't used thus answering my own concern there. If you really want Brexit to happen, go and campaign in a safe Labour seat, otherwise you're just hurting yourself and getting more angry over a situation that you've ironically helped happen.

Ah..... We meet again jhumphreys84 - Must stop meeting like this. Hmm...... "A Brexit whatever it looks like" Well the Boris "Deal" does not look like (and is not) a Brexit at all (read the details) His "Deal" for the British people is more akin to selling glass beads to the Indians. Well I for one won't be falling for it. I voted to leave the EU as did 68.1% of Harlow (that bothered to vote ) I have no care for the Conservatives who are determined to foist this gigantic con: Brexit in name only. Those in Harlow who truly believe in leaving the EU completely have only one option - The Brexit Party - Clean Break.

I want out so for me there is only The Brexit Party. I seem to remember voting to leave sometime in the distant past, we should have been out 3 years ago.

Hi jhumphreys I think you are right. If someone wants to vote for a party who's leader had a privileged private education, who has had issues over expenses, who have been paid lots of money for telling lies, who may have questionable financial backers, and spout populist views just to get attention, then most definitely that vote will be split. 20thcenturyman "Clean Break." A clean break is only a good thing if it is your leg or arn that is broken. There is still a lot of pain and the damage will take time to repair. A broken arm or leg is usually an accident, not self-inflicted.
