FIVE members of Harlow-based local Hercules Running & Tri Club have recently achieved marathon success across three major events, combining personal milestones with significant fundraising efforts for charity.
The runners took part in the London Marathon, Manchester Marathon, and Newport Marathon, representing the town on two busy spring weekends for endurance sport.

At the London Marathon on 26 April, members braved the heat as they joined thousands of runners on the capital’s streets. Adrian Clark completed his third marathon, while Kelley Burey marked an impressive marathon debut and raised £1,300 for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Fellow club member Josh Shelton (who is 2nd claim for Hercules) delivered a standout performance in his seventh marathon, crossing the line in a remarkable 2:53:23.
A week earlier, on 19 April, Steve Bruce completed his second marathon in Manchester while raising £1,500 for Farleigh Hospice.
That same day, Hercules Running & Tri Club Head Coach Paul Schroder took on the Newport Marathon in Wales, completing his sixth marathon in 3:42:56, his third-fastest marathon time to date.
The achievements reflect months of dedicated preparation, consistency and mutual support among club members. Hercules Running & Tri has become a growing part of Harlow’s sporting community, offering opportunities for runners and triathletes of all abilities to train together, improve fitness, and work toward personal goals.
Club members credited the club’s support network as a key factor in reaching the start line fully prepared and achieving their individual goals.
