Running: Harlow run off Christmas excess

HARLOW Running Club members ran off the festive excesses by competing
in various races between Christmas and the New Year. At the
Buntingford 10 Mile race Jared Bethell finished in 17th place out of
497 finishers in an excellent 1hr 01min 52sec. He was followed home by
Colin Moody 108th in 1hr 13min 36sec, John Tennant 115th in 1hr 14min
20sec, Jason Haigh 128th in 1hr 15min 26sec, Odette Galea 263rd in a
personal best time for the distance of 1hr 26min 48sec and Celia Haigh
339th in 1hr 31min 55sec.

At the Boxing Day Witham 5 Mile race Robin Lozeau led the way in 154th
place out of 264 finishers in 39min 55sec followed by Debbie Harry
177th in 41min 26sec, William Brunton 261st in 57min 36sec and Helen
Brunton 262nd also in 57min 36sec.

At the Gunpowder Parkrun 5K at Waltham Abbey Julia Gardiner finished
in 16th place out of 73 finishers and 1st Lady Vet 35 in a superb
22min 06sec and Richard Solomons was just behind in 17th place and 1st
Vet 60 in 22min 08sec.

At the Chelmsford Parkrun 5K Martin McColgan finished in 71st place
out of 250 finishers followed by Janice Page 79th in 24min 39sec and
David Page 90th in 25min 12sec.
