A local ice cream company visited Hastingwood-based charity St Clare Hospice on Friday 27th July 2018 during the recent heatwave, to deliver ice creams free of charge to patients, families, staff and volunteers of the organisation.
Steve’s Ices made the visit to St Clare to deliver free ice creams to all those on site during Friday’s 30°C+ heatwave. Attending the hospice at around 11.30am, patients, families, staff and volunteers each enjoyed a cooling cone of soft ice cream, courtesy of Steve’s Ices.
Stephen Daniel, founder and owner of Steve’s Ices, said: “It’s always a pleasure to support St Clare, a local charity that is close to the hearts of so many people in the community. Everyone enjoys a refreshing ice-cream on a hot, sunny day, so one of our vans came by on Friday to deliver a little treat to all those at St Clare! Steve’s Ices has been supporting St Clare for many years, but the charity also has a strong connection to me personally after they cared for my Dad 4 years ago. The anniversary of his death is approaching at the start of August, so I just wanted to make a gesture of thanks to St Clare for all they did for Dad.”
Established in 1994, Steve’s Ices is a locally well-known ice cream van company, operating throughout London, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. The brand is most well-known throughout the Harlow area, with multiple vans situated throughout the town.
