Harlow gymnasts reach East Region finals.

Medal success for Harlow Gymnastics club at the General Gymnastics Essex County Levels competition in Colchester.
Podium positions on every apparatus for fifteen-year-old St Mark’s student Brooke Walker in the level 5 age 16/18 event. Brooke was awarded the overall first place trophy, gold medal and trophy for floor, silver medals on both vault and beam, and 5th place rosette on bars.
Sylvie Rowe (8) shone for the club in the level 3 age 9/10 event with the overall first place trophy as well as silver medals on bar, beam and floor. Hermione Mellor (9) received the 5th place rosette for vault and finished in 11th place overall, with teammate Elsie Leverington (10) receiving the 4th place rosette on floor to finish in 27th place overall. In the same event, Missy Poole (10), Mia Taruvinga (10), Aleisha Leh (8) and Lila Brown (9) placed 21st, 23rd, 29th and 30th respectively.
A further trophy and gold medal for St Marks student Millie Upton (14) on the vault with an 8th place finish in the level 5 age 13/15 event. Elena Dumitiriu (14) achieved the 5th place rosette on floor and 15th overall with teammates Holly Montague (14), Chloe Ann Wenz (13) and Daisy Dove (13) narrowly behind in 16th, 17th, and 20th position.
Purford Green pupil Elizabeth Chung (11) was awarded the silver medal on beam and finished in 11th position overall in the level 5 age 11/12 event. Teammates Bobbie Burns (10) achieved 4th place rosette on vault finishing in 14th overall and Yasmin Thong (12) took the 5th place rosette on floor to finish in 15th place overall.
The final medal went to for eleven-year-old Charlotte Smith, who achieved the bronze on bars and placed 15th overall in the level 3 age 11/12 event.
Competing in the level 4 age 10/11 event, Sydni Barker (11) won rosettes for 4th place on floor, 5th place on vault and 6th place on beam, placing 10th overall. Zsofia Ojimbah won the 4th place rosette for vault and placed 16th overall. Competing in the same event, teammates Harriet Pask (9), Emily Pask (9), Kira Henson (11) and Brooke Hayzelden (11) placed 13th, 18th, 20th & 21st respectively. Also at level 4, in the age 12/14 event Yasmin Akram (12), Emily Price (12) and Lucie Mcintyre (11) placed 10th, 16th and 17th.
The medalists qualify for the East Region final which will take place later in June.
