Dear Editor,

I want to say a huge thank you to members of our emergency services as well as staff at Princess Alexandra hospital who are working over the Christmas period.

For most of us Christmas is a time to spend with our families and loved ones but for many this isn’t an option. So I say to all the fire officers, nurses, police officers, paramedic and many others again thank you so much for what you do to keep us safe and healthy all year around but particularly over the festive period.

To everyone else I just say please stay safe.
