History / Thu 11th Nov 2021 at 01:26pm

A SIMPLE yet very fitting service to mark Armistice Day on November 11th, 1918, took place outside the Harlow Council offices on Thursday morning.

The service was led by the chair of Harlow Council, cllr Clive Souter. members of the Royal British Legion, veterans of the armed services, councillors, council officers and members of the public observed a two minute silence to mark the silencing of the guns.

I would also like to thank the church leaders in Potter Street for giving the same tributes at the Potter Street memorial today. It was well attended and respectful in memory of the Potter Street people that had been lost. It was also very moving when the names of those were read out.
