A COMMUNITY-minded boy has been praised for giving up his time to help clean up the town.

Charles Garner, aged six, from Old Harlow gave up his weekend to clean up his local town after learning about the environment in school.

Charles said: “‘I want to help our planet’ and so he decided to buy a litter picker to collect all the rubbish on his venture around Old Harlow.

After filling several bags and disposing them appropriately, Charles added: ‘I’m happy that I made my home a little more tidier’.

Charles’ father, Paul Garnar wished he could be as eager when it comes to tidying up his bedroom!
