THANK you to all those who sent in World Book Day photographs.

There was such an amazing variety of outfits and there is clearly a great appetite for reading.

Well done to all the pupils, parents and school staff who got involved.

It is also a bit emotional for some parents.

Karen said: “My daughter Lottie is in her last year at Freshwaters Academy, so this is an emotional one, as it will be her last ever book day.

“We have had some pretty amazing costumes over the years from her being so little to now.

So this year, as she is obsessed with the film Wicked and the West End show, she wanted to go as Elphaba.

Lottie made the whole thing herself and put it all together.

“I am so proud of her”.
