ATTWATERS Jameson Hill, a leading regional law firm with offices in Harlow, Hertford, Ware and Loughton, is delighted to announce its merger with Stafford Young Jones, a London-based firm with an office located in the heart of the City. The move, which took effect on 1st November 2019, saw the two firms join forces to bring their combined expertise to clients across a wider geographical area, broadening the range of specialist services on offer and boosting staff numbers to 93.
The merged business, which will initially be named Attwaters Jameson Hill incorporating Stafford Young Jones, now has five offices, adding a prime London location to Attwaters Jameson Hill’s four existing practices.
The merger will give Stafford Young Jones the opportunity to bring over 200 years of legal knowledge and expertise to clients across Hertfordshire and Essex, as well as providing its existing clients with access to a large and successful regional practice offering a broader range of services. Equally, clients of Attwaters Jameson Hill can now enjoy the benefit of access to Stafford Young Jones’ conveniently placed London office, in addition to its four current locations.
Managing Partner of Attwaters Jameson Hill, Andrew Flannagan, says that the merger is a natural progression for both firms, and is both beneficial to their businesses and to their many clients:
“It is an absolute pleasure to be able to announce this merger, which sees us unite with a highly distinguished and reputable firm. Client service and care is, and has always been, at the heart of what we do, and so it was only natural that we should seek further opportunities to enhance our client offering, both in terms of the range of services available and our geographical reach.
“Attwaters Jameson Hill has already enjoyed wide recognition for the quality of the advice and services it provides from sources such as the prestigious Legal 500 directory. Stafford Young Jones is a firm that shares our commitment to high standards of client care, our insistence on high quality legal advice and our vision for future growth.”
Andrew Strong, Managing Partner at Stafford Young Jones, says:
“While both firms offered expertise in a multitude of specialisms prior to the merger, our union with Attwaters Jameson Hill will provide our clients with access to a greater depth of sector-specific expertise.
“For us, the most important thing is that Attwaters Jameson Hill shares our friendly, approachable and professional attitude to client care and takes as much pride as we do in offering an excellent client experience. We look forward to continuing our growth together, and I am very excited for what the future holds.”
Stafford Young Jones is one of London’s most historic law firms, and can trace its roots back over 200 years to its establishment in 1805, under its original name of Young & Hughes. Over the years, it was known by various names before finally settling on its current moniker in 1989, when it amalgamated with close neighbour Stafford Clark & Co. Meanwhile, Attwaters Jameson Hill was established in 1901 under the name Attwater & Liell, eventually taking its current name when it merged with Hertfordshire firm Jameson & Hill in 2012.
