A HEALTH and Well Being retreat based at the former site of the Churchgate Hotel has closed.

Old Harlow residents contacted YH after seeing the historic building had many of its windows boarded up.

Since 2018, it had been occupied by Carbon Retreat. This was described as follows: “Carbon Retreat follows a unique programme that helps guests to overcome any type of addiction, whether that be compulsive shopping, social media, sugar, caffeine, alcohol, or recreational or prescription drugs.”

YH spoke to a contact at Carbon Retreat who told us that the business was closed and that the property was set to be redeveloped into apartments.
