HARLOW Rugby Club, supported by Harlow Playhouse are coming together to reinvigorate the local music scene. Local band The Peliriccos are set to host an evening of original music with the hope of repeating the “Peliparty” event several times throughout the year.

Sam Ashford, who is the Creative Director of local performing Arts charity Livewire and the driving force behind The Peliroccos and this event had this to say:

“I’m really excited about this event, it was nights like this at The Square that allowed me the chance to play and to meet band members as well as making friends for life. We want to give bands who are writing original music somewhere to play and develop their craft and engage with new audiences”

The Peliparty will be hosted by The Peliroccos who will open the evening with a set of their lively, original music. Then on to the featured artists before returning to close the night with some covers for everyone to get involved.

New Harlow band Beechwood are the main act, a 4 piece rock band influenced by Wunderhorse and Fontaine’s DC. The PeliParty will also be handing a debut to Harry Bailey who has teamed up with a group of local Jazz/Hip Hop musicians ‘Tune In’, influences range from Loyle Carner and Tom MIsch.

Rory Davies, Harlow Playhouse Artistic Director and Head of Cultural Activities added “We’d love to make a success of this and the rugby club are kindly providing the space free of charge meaning we can keep it free for people to come along! Harlow Playhouse are delighted to be providing tech support to bring the best quality sound, it’s a venture that we are all very excited about and we hope music lovers and from across Harlow turn up to support this fantastic event!”
