Judo UELJudo UELFOUR players from Harlow Judo Club competed in the London Open 2016.

Kane Horsley, ten, Owen Lambert, nine, and Thomas Lambert, 13, all fought magnificently at the UEL, London.

Kane went up a weight group and battled hard but unfortunately did not progress through to the next round.

Owen also went up a weight group and made it into the repechage, only to be beaten to the bronze medal position by a much higher graded player.

Thomas also fought hard and eventually won a well deserved bronze medal in his weight group.

Coaching was provided by Harlow Judo Club head coach Mick Ellis and team manager Alex Hemming.

The pair felt that all three players came across tough opposition in their respective pools but did the club proud fighting in such a high ranking event.

Hemming himself competed the next day in the youth section and fought well to win a bronze medal.

He also fought in the senior section later on in the day but was unable to medal.

The club is based in Foldcroft, Harlow. For training times, visit www.harlowjudoclub.com or email [email protected]oo.co.uk or call 07976 955905 for further information.
